Just before the end of the year, it's a Gaming Hell update with Sonic the Fighters! This 1996 Sega AM2 fighter is frequently misunderstood, mostly by people who've only played it for five minutes and not figured out how to use the sidestep, so hopefully I've done a decent job explaining what the deal is with this one and why it's a game I find myself going back to for casual sessions, it's fun! The MS Paint art above also inspired fanart from BigBear and morkitten which was really nice to see! I hope you enjoy this, it was a lot of fun putting this one together.

Oh, what's this? An actual monthly update on Gaming Hell? Maybe, maybe, And hey, last time I said we could cover anything next time, and I wasn't wrong for once! It's a look at the cancelled 1992 arcade game OOParts, famously referred to as FARTS in an issue of Gamest. This is a strange paddle-and-ball game that went unreleased which is a huge shame, as it's shot up my list as one of my favourites in this particular genre, it does a lot of things right that others don't. Hopefully you find this one interesting!

Fresh from the toilet, it's Gaming Hell's latest article, all about The Ooze! Sega Technical Institute give us the story of D. Caine, the slipperiest, slimiest video game protagonist out there, but can they make it work, or will it all go down the tubes? Well, maybe knowing that this game broke two controllers and is forever banned from appearing on my streams might clue you in, but hopefully you can give it a read and see where I'm coming from with this one. This one took a lot out of me, but it's done now, and I can rest easy knowing I can flush this one down the bog without pity! What we'll cover next is anyone's guess, maybe I'll just commit to the bit and cover, I dunno, X-Perts or something. [Please no. - Ed]

For Gaming Hell's 17th anniversary, it's time to return to that cursed tower with The Quest of Ki, the puzzle-platformer prequel to The Tower of Druaga created by Game Studio and inspired by Atari's Major Havoc! I'm a big fan of this game, so I hope I was able to articulate that properly in this article. I also cover the Vs. System version with 20 extra stages and other bits and bobs. I hope you enjoy it!

Gaming Hell is still on 'limited operations' with less frequent updates... But it will return.

New on Gaming Hell, a short guide-type article this time, it's a look at all the unlockable secrets in the Saturn port of Last Bronx! I absolutely want to do a full review / article on Last Bronx in the future because it's a very interesting part of Sega history, but I'll need a lot more time and combat data to do that. However, I did put a little time into researching the secrets in this game, mostly for my own curiosity because many of the cheats listed in old magazines and on the internet are either wrong or missing some steps. Here we are, then, the findings of my research! I hope you find it useful or at least interesting. Besides, this has one of the best GIFs I've ever made. Please enjoy.

New on Gaming Hell, it's a look at the Sega-based comic strips in Sonic the Comic! I did a series of read-a-long streams of Sonic the Comic across 2024 on my Twitch channel (there's a YouTube playlist of those streams over here) and, while the Sonic stories are absolutely what people know the comic for (I mean, fair enough, it's in the name) I wanted to shine a spotlight on the non-Sonic stories based on franchises like Golden Axe and Streets of Rage, and even weirder picks like Mutant League and Shining Force, and the horror that is Pirate S.T.C., whatever that is. I also wanted to cover the series that got away from StC and were snatched up by the short-lived Max Overload! instead, just for fun. So, I put this page together. Hopefully, I've been able to properly highlight the people behind these stories and give the strips the attention they deserve. Maybe this'll sell a few more copies of Marko's Magic Football, eh?
